Use Patience. The only thing worse than no help at all, is impatient help. Your child will only get better grades if information is able to soak into his/her brain and get processed. Some concepts take longer to learn than others. Make sure you use patience when you help your child work through these difficult problems. It could make the difference between him/her giving up or persevering through the worksheet.
The initial writing exercises in the worksheet include writing short and simple sentences which can be easily understood by the student himself and also the reader who reads them. These writing exercises help the student a lot with the understanding the meaning of sentences and also help him to improve his reading skills so that he can read more number of sentences in the less required time. Writing activities help them to create sentences with new words each time and hence the repetition of words in their sentences can be eradicated permanently.
2) Good worksheets use a variety of formats. If you have offered a standard word search puzzle every week for the past eight weeks, kids might not get real excited with the same thing on week number nine. Instead, ask students to unscramble some words, find spelling words hidden inside a picture, supply missing letters, and correct spelling mistakes. Ask them to fit words from a word box into a puzzle-y shape. Ask kids to decode a hidden message.
It may be the end of the school year and you’re searching something fun yet educational for your child to do during the summer.
Control Extra Curricular Activities.Extra curricular activities are wonderful. When those activities, however, begin interfering with academics, it is time to set limits. If your child is having a difficult time maintaining good grades, make sure he/she is only participating in 1 activity outside of school. This will ensure there is enough time to complete homework and study for tests.
1) Fun spelling reproducibles use whimsical art themes. Bring on the juggling clowns, leaping frogs, dazzling princes and princesses, and you’ll be off to a great start. Spelling worksheets for first graders and second graders are fun when they look fun. It’s not necessary to print out expensive worksheets in full-color. Black-and-white pages work just fine when there is some appealing art. First and second graders can always add their own color!
